WITH OUR HELP, YOU CAN GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.

Colors can bring you joy, or they can torture you.  A paint chip color never looks exactly the same once it's on your wall for many reasons.

  • Light.  The light in your room changes based on sunlight, shadows and of course, lighting fixtures.  These will affect the color of the paint on the walls and should be taken into consideration.
  • Background.  Printed paint samples are often built on a pure bright white background. Its true color will only reveal itself on the wall itself.
  • Furniture and Fixtures.  Your new paint may “pick up” the other colors in the room.  Always take these things into consideration.
  • Sheen. The sheen affects the color because it absorbs or reflects light.
  • Complexity of the Paint.  Printer Ink (from your paint chip) is usually made up of 3 or 4 colors plus black.  Some color systems (commercial paints) are made from as many as 20.

  • Consistency of the paint. Quality companies ensure that the first gallon you apply will be the same color as the final gallon.  Even so, if you look really closely on the back of your paint can, you may find a disclaimer telling you that variances may occur.
